Well folks- I’m part time back. Why “part time back” you say. Because I don’t know how much time I will have to dedicate to this, and I am at this very moment, procrastinating on my 401 homework and opted to write a blog post instead. I have been training for the 401D Performance Prep course since before January of 2022 and it has been almost completely all consuming along side the chaos that is my full time job. I realized ever since I moved into the new house I haven’t really done much crafting at all other than a few cross stitch projects and one knitting project. And Art of the Belly is a mere stone’s throw away so I figured with all my free time-har har har- I would attempt to start making a lovely new costume for myself since I miss it. I’m also solidly 15 lbs heavier than I was when I made most of my current costuming and since I’m not regularly gigging- dropping a couple hundred bucks on new costumes seems foolish at a time when I’m investing so heavily in my dance education. Plus making things is fun.
ENOUGH OF THAT. I want to make a beaded fringe monster like my green costume. Which I have conveniently posted in the banner of this post for you to remember- so I’d like to make something like that with the same quality and feel, but in something more grey and purple. Thus is born the Purple People Eater.
This will be a short blog because I’m really just gathering supplies- but the main point is hi- welcome back and I”m going to attempt to keep track of the amount of money I spend on this jobber.
I’m going to take a stab at estimating the cost up front and then update you as I go along.

Bringing our estimated total to 350$ plus the labor that goes into it. And in true Jo fashion I’m buying in waves because that’s what a girl has to go.

This brings our currently total of 74.38 for the project. It will take me a few weeks to collect everything but we will get there. So stay tuned and I’ll keep you all posted as I progress along on this and see how we go.
